What’s the DJ listening to?

It’s a question that I get a lot. A lot of people wonder if I listen to the same stuff I play in the clubs I work. Here’s a track list of the latest CD I burned for my car… and yes, I still use CDs

Rick Ross feat. Lil’ Wayne- 9 Piece (Remix)
Travis Barker feat, Lil’ Jon, Busta Rhymes, Twista & Yelawolf- Let’s Go
Donnis- Tonight
Beanie Sigel- The Truth
Pusha T feat. Tyler the Creator- Trouble on My Mind
KRS-One feat. DJ Revolution- The DJ
Jay-Z & Kanye West- Otis
M.O.P.- Ante Up
Ghostface Killah- Be Easy
Travis Porter- Bring it Back (Skinny Friedman Remix)
Lupe Fiasco feat. MDMA- I Don’t Wanna Care Right Now
Avicii- Levels
Wiz Khalifa- No Sleep
Metric- Black Sheep
Transplants- Diamonds and Guns
Rage Against The Machine- Killing In The Name (Sebastian’s Late Night Laptop Edit)

Oh, and if you were wondering, I have and still do play ALL of these songs when I DJ at the various clubs I do.

I’m not gonna say that I am the end all be all authority on what music is gonna become popular and played on radio stations til your ears bleed but I did call LMFAO’s Party Rock Anthem back in January. So here’s a list of songs that I think you should check out before they more than likely become overplayed and obnoxious:

Wiz Khalifa- No Sleep
Mac Miller- Knock, Knock
Britney Spears- Big Fat Bass
DJ Felli Fel feat. Akon & Pitbull- Boomerang
David Guetta feat. Taio Cruz & Ludacris- Little Bad Girl
Pitbull feat. T-Pain, Ludacris & Sean Paul- Shake Senora (Remix)

    Undergound/EDM

Grieves- Tragic
Pusha T feat. Tyler the Creator- Trouble On My Mind
Foster The People- Pumped Up Kicks (Skeet Skeet Remix)
Hypercrush- Fingers Up
Doctor P- Tetris (Original Mix)
SBTRKT feat. Drake- Wildfire (Remix)

Veni Vidi… Avicii?

Avicii (pronounced Ah-Vee-Chee) is the newest, and in my opinion, best electronic music act to come out of Sweden since Abba. No offense to the SHM guys, but there stuff didn’t ever really resonate with me at all. Take a listen to what was created around an Etta James vocal. I’m really hoping that this crosses over and gets radio airplay because I’m getting a little sick and tired of all the repetitious Afrojack and David Guetta production. I’m actually getting a lot of requests for this at New York Deli and Off The Hookah. So if you haven’t heard this before, Get Familiar!!!!!!
